      <image:title>Poetry - I See God</image:title>
<image:caption>In the sliver of moon perfectly framed in the window In the mosaic ripples of water dancing in the pool In my daughter’s contented sigh at the end of her favorite meal In my son’s desire for togetherness wanting everyone he loves to live close always and forever In the tiny leaves peeking out from branches considered dead their resilience to live a lesson for these days In the humid summer breeze that carries with it the smell of childhood friendships In the perfectly crisped edges of 전 made with 부추 from our unkempt garden In the weaving of words that pull back the veil for us to see the divine</image:caption>

<image:caption>I cradle the basin in my lap Heads of garlic ready to be cracked Open Each clove peeled Stored This is the unseen Unsung work of mothers Sitting for hours Legs crossed on the floor To prep for a dish A meal For days to come We see beyond now And plan for tomorrow Is there ever an end? The smell of garlic lingers On my fingertips It’s the scent of Korean mothers Before me And for once I welcome it To stay</image:caption>

<image:caption>He runs on ahead And back to me Hand on chest Smile so proud He says, Feel my heartbeat. He takes my hand And I feel His heart pounding As if shouting, I’m alive! I’m alive! I look at my son With delight and tears Because he is alive He is breathing He is here. Too many mothers Can’t say the same Too many sons And daughters Have cried out Hands cuffed I can’t breathe Their life spilled out On asphalt On cement On camera Their hearts, still No longer beating No longer breathing No longer here. I pound my chest And mourn Lament And cry out Repent And raise my voice My fist And shout No more Enough Enough #ahmaudarbery #breonnataylor #georgefloyd #blacklivesmatter</image:caption>

      <image:title>Poetry - How Are You?</image:title>
<image:caption>I go from fine to depressed And back again Each day marked With gratefulness and desperation Loneliness and wanting to be alone The day ticks by like it doesn’t care Stretching time beyond reason Yet the year scrambles away As if it can’t stand its own fate Of all it was supposed to be But isn’t “When things go back to normal…” Loses its meaning Because so much is being lost In this upside down world Things will only move forward Toward the question marks ahead And “normal” will simply be what it is then Are we okay? I don’t know I say I’m fine But I’m not But I am This is my normal today.</image:caption>

<image:caption>All those years It had to be It had to be When faith meant the faith of my father And yet Still You were real You were with me We dreamt together But You broke the box of those dreams Telling me You weren’t bound to them Inviting me, “Trust Me, trust Me.” You broke the box Destroyed my dreams Deconstructed Undid everything So I could understand who You are And who I am All the while I kept saying, “It has to be It has to be True” Now the box doesn’t exist And it’s open fields I walk where there’s no path Unafraid Without hesitation Singing unabandoned Fully trusting It is true It is true For now For always</image:caption>
